Ruby

Ruby (Rhubarb for short) is a 2009 replica of a Grand Banks dory that was slowly rotting away on Friendship Long Island in Maine. Andy Hutchinson, Lora Colten, Kate Thompson, and Mike Bridges and a host of islanders worked with me to recreate the boat, supported by Wick Johnson, co-owner of the original boat. It took us eleven days, and we launched her at low tide in an oncoming hurricane. She lives happily in a haul out near her birthplace and gets out on the water most summers.
