I flew to St. Louis on Sunday to help Lora drive the remainder of the big flat midwest. We spent a day wandering along the ever-so-urban Mississippi, which is just about bone dry right now. An industrial wilderness. With strange rules.

A white bridge and a black bridge. One is upside-down. Which?

I must say: The St. Louis Arch is breathtaking against the blue sky. What a fine piece of architecture.

The drive west was pretty tolerable, with a few interesting sites.

We snuck in moments ahead of the weather. Mostly and above all: glad to be back.
